Event Description:
NmTC was involved in the organization and implementation of a successful national external engagement led by Minister Bennett and Crown Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs (CIRNAC). NmTC supported Minister Bennett and CIRNAC’s ability to carry out a successful national engagement process with Indigenous leadership and grassroots organizations (including women, youth, and elders), provincial and territorial governments, and the general Canadian public.
Project Scope:
Requirement for the provision of event management services for the external engagement activities by planning and managing events and travel and working closely with the Policy Development and Coordination Branch within Treaties and Aboriginal Government Sector. Services included Consultation and Project Management, arranging logistical requirements for venues, hospitality and catering, simultaneous translation services, supporting Elders, travel arrangements and reimbursements, and contracting facilitation.
Project Outcomes:
More than 50 engagements took place Canada-wide with size of each meeting ranging from 25 - 150 participants.
The engagement saw Minister Bennett gain the necessary input on the legislative and policy components that contributed to an approach for the recognition of rights, including any power, duties and functions required that resulted in the creation of the new departments.
